Inner West Council is a new council formed by the merger of the former Ashfield, Leichhardt and Marrickville Councils.
The merger won't have any immediate impact on your services. Your bins will be collected on the same day, you can pay your rates in the same way, and other services will remain in place too. Over the next few months, Council will review all services to make sure they remain efficient and effective. Until then, everything is business as usual.

You can report an issue online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using Council's service request form. After completing this form you'll receive a reference number, which you can then use to check the status of your issue.

The Petersham Customer Service Centre is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm. Visit us at 2-14 Fisher Street, Petersham NSW 2049. We are a short 2 minute walk from Petersham railway station.

Weekly garbage and fortnightly recycling collection is provided to all residents. Council also offers a free clean-up service for garden waste, household and white goods. Bookings are essential.
You can report an issue or request a service online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using Council's service request form. After completing this form you'll receive a reference number, which you can then use to check the status of your issue.

A Justice of the Peace (JP) is a person in the community who is authorised to independently witness and sign statutory declarations and affidavits, and to certify copies of original documents.
Council's Petersham Service Centre (see "Face-to-face" above for contact details and business hours) offers a limited JP service to the community.
Please note that this service cannot guaranteed at all times as it is dependent on the availability of JP staff. The JP service is not available between the hours of 12 noon and 2pm and after 4pm each work day.
To ensure we service all of our customers in a timely manner, we ask that you present no more than 6 documents at any one time.
Please also be aware that JPs do not have access to photocopying facilities: if you require certification of copies of original documents, you must bring the originals and copies with you.

Marrickville and Petersham Town Halls and a number of smaller halls are available for hire.
Tom Foster Community Care provides home-delivered nutritious meals seven days a week for the frail, aged and people with disabilities. Ethnic and special diets catered for.
Council may need to close sporting fields on occasion due to wet weather, in order to prevent damage to the playing field and grounds.
Council publishes wet weather information for its major grounds on the Rec Post website. Information is updated by 2pm, Monday to Friday.
A state-of-the-art aquatic centre featuring an 8-lane, heated 50 metre pool, a programs and special access pool, a kids' splash pool and a wellness centre (gym).
Enmore Park, Black Street, Enmore
Newly refurbished in 2013, the Fanny Durack Aquatic Centre features an 8-lane, 25 metre main pool, toddlers' pool, waterplay area and café.
Marrickville Library and History Services has four branches: a central library in Marrickville, and three local branches at Stanmore, Dulwich Hill and St Peters.
