Marrickville is a diverse and friendly community situated only 10km from the centre of Sydney. Shops and restaurants line the two heritage streets of Marrickville and Illawarra Roads, which are the heart of the centre. Marrickville is well known for its Vietnamese restaurants and grocery stores, continental delicatessens and haberdashery shops.

Marrickville is a great place to live, work and visit. Many people are attracted to the area because of its convenience, inner-city character and multicultural atmosphere.

Marrickville also has an interesting history. It was traditionally a predominantly Greek community, and is now home to a variety of cultures, including a strong Vietnamese presence.
