Tom Foster Community Care

Volunteers are needed at Tom Foster Community Care to:

  • deliver meals; and
  • provide companionship and social support.

There are many frail older people, people with a disability and carers living in the Marrickville and Leichhardt Local Government Areas who need help to continue living independently in their own homes.

If you can give a few hours on a regular basis and want to make a difference in someone's life, please contact us by phone on (02) 9335 2153 or e-mail Tom Foster Administration.

As a volunteer you will receive ongoing training and support, and be reimbursed travel costs.

STARS (Skills Training and Resource Centre)

STARS provides training for volunteers working with community organisations.  If you are not already working with an organisation, STARS give you some suggestions of organisations who need volunteers. Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community.

The STARS Training Calendar is out now and bookings are essential as places are limited.  To book contact STARS on 9750 9344 or email starstraining@4cs.org.au.

Garden Care and Lawn Mowing Service

Garden Care needs volunteers to assist in creating low maintenance gardens for the frail aged in the Marrickville, Canterbury and Leichhardt Local Government Areas.

Volunteers can work as few or as many hours as they like.  No need to be an expert as free training is available.  Expenses are reimbursed and age is no barrier.

Garden care is particularly looking for people who can work during the week but for those who can't there's a Saturday gardening team.

Phone the Garden Care Coordinator Helen Young on 9750 9344 for further information.
