Small Business Water Efficiency

Marrickville Council is committed to supporting local businesses to be environmentally sustainable by reducing their use of drinking quality water. Council is offering FREE water saving devices to help your business save precious water and save money.

Available are:

  • flow restrictors that can be retro-fitted onto basin taps cutting water consumption by up to 50%; and
  • tools to make your old single-flush toilet more water efficient.

Under a similar water efficiency project, participating businesses reduced water use by 10 to 40%.

target sustainability@marrickville business officers will come to your premises and undertake a brief assessment of the water fixtures in your business. They will then give you the simple water saving devices free of charge on the spot.

The officers may also offer other water saving devices for which subsidies will be available to businesses that commit to further sustainability initiatives.

This project is open to all businesses and organisations in the Marrickville Local Government Area, but you will need to hurry – the subsidies will stop as soon as all the project funds are spent.

So take the first steps to reducing your water bill and call the target sustainability team on 9335 2061 or email envof@marrickville.nsw.gov.au.
